Now that there are a host of lighting technologies (like LEDs) that don't have this limitation, Art Lebedev design studio throws this idea out there: square traffic lights. More than just a quirky take on a long-standing urban fixture, the edgy lights have a greater surface area than round lights of the same size (a diameter equal to the length of one of the square's sides).
